A new scale model is under way at present and is to be fully "glassed". The photo is of my Olympia 463 to 1:3.5 scale.
The whole machine (including open structures) is covered in heavy weight tissue, then covered with Fibretech GB glass cloth and epoxy, before final painting.

Mardave sidecar The new chassis was built for a very old shell. The original chassis had been badly hacked about and numerous holes had been drilled in it.
The new chassis was built using Fibretech GB 3mm glass fibre sheet which was cut with a fretsaw.

The photos are self-explanatory. The plug of blue foam was glassed with 2x200 Twill and 1x135 cloth and was split. The foam was carved out then washed out with cellulose thinner. When finished flew very well.
